For use with the Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G, AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR, and 1 NIKKOR VR 10-100mm f/4-5.6 lenses, the HB-N106 Lens Hood is a bayonet-style auxiliary lens hood. A lens hood's main function is to divert unwanted light away from the lens to prevent flare. A lens hood also offers some degree of protection for the lens against precipitation and unintentional damage. A special lens hood is designed to fit the lens's focal length and has enough extension to exclude stray light without obstructing the image.
