TTL mode: This flash is spot on every time when using TTL mode. I tried it with flash white balance, auto white balance and custom white balance and it’s spot on with all these options.Manual mode: For macro photography it’s perfect for single shots and focus stacking. At 1/16th strength it’s able to keep up with slow burst mode on my Canon 90D – I have taken up to 40 pictures of a subject without the flash missing even once, I am pretty sure it will keep up with fast burst mode too, but I have not tried that yet.Battery: I have taken hundreds of photos with this flash, so I have run out of battery a few times now. Charging time is a bit long (+- 2 hours) but I can shoot most of the day if not all day without the battery running out. Keeping in mind that that I take multiple photos for stacking so can take up to 400 photos per day at 1/16th strength and have enough battery remaining to take a few the next day.Shutter speed / Flash speed: Installing the flash on my camera limits the shutter speed to 1/250 which is a great speed for macro. I usually try and set my shutter speed a bit slower to get more light into the camera and even with slower shutter speed the flash perfectly freezes the subject in the frame.Size and usability: I hate big bulky things (He says with his 90D and huge Sigma 105mm Macro lens) but this flash is compact and small enough and still has a great strong light even at 1/16th the strength. When doing portrait photography, I sometimes go to 1/2 or 1/4 and get great results every time. Not bad for a small compact flash.Diffuser: I lost the little diffuser that came with the flash on day one ☹ but got a third party cheap standard flash diffuser and it works perfectly on this flash. Without a diffuser, the light is a bit hard for skin in portrait or macro, so diffuser is required.Zoom: Zoom is great, but I tend to use it at 24mm which is as wide as it will get to make sure that the light goes everywhere. Love the sound it makes when you change the focus though.Worth the money? YES, and highly recommend for macro photography or any other kind of photography for that matter.Very nice build quality and I am very happy with my purchase.
