I purchased this camera in June of 2014. In January of 2015 it failed and I began a return. When I received the first camera I was shocked to find a DOWNGRADE, a VR 340 with a 10x zoom. I immediately called customer service who could not or would not tell me any reason why I received a downgrade. I went to their Facebook page and was contacted by a Customer Service Rep who explained to me that the technician felt it was comparable enough to the camera I bought that he just shipped it to to replace my VR 370. I told her that I did not want this camera, first of all I purchased a model later and it did not have the features I was looking for. I was chastised and scolded by someone at Get Olympus on Facebook for posting my outrage and disappointment. She began a return of the downgraded model for a VR 370 in red. I received the camera today and while I was exceedingly overjoyed to have another VR-370 I was a little taken aback that the camera I received was a refurbished model. Meaning someone purchased it and then for whatever reason returned it.I certainly do not mean any disrespect nor do I mean to marginalize the effort made to correct this situation. However, I purchased a brand new VR 370 and expected to receive the same. From the outset of my purchase, when I wrote about the lack of vibrancy in the landscape mode, battery failure to this ordeal in which I was sent a downgrade camera, being chastised on their Facebook page for complaining, to receiving a refurbished product in is the height of customer service failure. No one at Olympus has accepted that they were responsible for my terrible experience with this company. Not once did any one say let's make this right, I am sorry. All I got were a bunch of excuses as to why this happened. And let me be clear, the camera failed under warranty! My experience has been such that I will not be inclined to ever purchase another Olympus product. EVER. Please do not waste your money on Olympus. Customer service and product backing is a joke.
